Nominations open, 25th Annual H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards to give more than $1 million in cash prizes
Anyone can nominate an outstanding Texas educator until September 30
To commemorate 25 years of excellence in education, H-E-B will award more than $1 million in cash prizes to Texas educators and their schools through the 2027 H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards program. Nominations are now open, and anyone can nominate their favorite teacher, counselor, principal, school district, school board or early childhood facility and help them win their share of more than $1 million. Nominations are open until September 30, 2026 at HEBLovesTeachers.com/nominate.
Over the past several months, H-E-B awarded $120,000 to the teachers, counselors and principals and their schools during surprise visits across the state. Teacher finalists were presented with a $1,000 check for themselves and a $1,000 check for their school; counselors were presented with a $1,000 check for themselves and a $1,500 check for their school; and principals received a $1,000 check for themselves and a $2,500 check for their school.
Celebrating the Heart of Texas Classrooms: H-E-B Awards Top Educators Statewide
Today, H-E-B announced the statewide winners for the 2026 H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards during a ceremony at the Marriott Marquis Houston. H-E-B awarded $480,000 in cash and grants to six teachers, two counselors, two principals, one early childhood facility, one public school board and two school districts. Since 2002, the H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards program has awarded almost $15 million in funding to educators who go the extra mile to serve their students and their communities.
